this brand of ~~emasculation~~ comedy is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying (shout out to Adam Sandler who tried that shit smh) but it is very annoying. and it’s not funny. but it goes to show that Hollywood will invest in that kind of degradation but I’m not sure who I’m more mad at - Hollywood or the men that feed into it or do it (seemingly) w/o hesitation - seriously. Now I get it - that check got some nice ass numbers on it. Shit, the right amount of money I’ll play a dude. Shave my head and bind some shit flat (good luck with that bottom) and yeah, I’d probably go right on. But that wouldn’t be as….funny, insulting on a quiet tip, it wouldn’t be…there’s a word for it. Anyways - yeah I feel Dave on this and it’s fucked up because it just shows that Hollywood refuses to take Black men seriously as actors/comedians and what have you - that make them women (which makes fun of us as Black women which also fuckin sucks and devalues us to caricatures and not put us IN OUR RIGHTFUL PLACE AS EQUAL HUMAN BEINGS -_-) and then erase us Black women out of the equation. -_- and they are a damn fool for thinking that some of us wouldn’t notice that shit. It’s definitely NOT cool - it’s annoying. It was funny to have Eddie Murphy play everybody but the white folks and Jada Pinkett (pre-Smith lol) in Nutty Professor - hell it was funny when Kenan was the lunch lady on All That (90s KID shit) BUT - after a while, it’s not that damn funny. It gets (is) old and annoying real quick. Black women of any age (although it typically seems to be against the 50+ set) are NOT a joke or something to be caricatured. And Black men as MEN and on their own are funny and don’t need gimmicks to help them out. But Hollywood won’t invest in that like they invest in other things. /IMO from what I’ve seen of movies and TV………..-shrugs- more I could say on this but it’s not flowing…
